Hosted by Sichuan University, the 18th Annual General Meeting was held in Chengdu on 25 Oct. Around 60 delegates from ISTA, Australian Technology Network(ATN), The Department of Science & Technology of Ministry of Education of P.R.C, State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C,Intellectual Property Department of HKSAR, Singapore Transpacific IP Group Limited and Chongqing Academy of Chinese Materia medica attended the event.

In the AGM, Northeastern University and Beijing Normal University were accepted as full members of ISTA. The AGM had achieved fruitful discussions and had received numerous precious suggestions from the participants, regarding the activities completed for the past year and the future development of ISTA. These include:

• - Participation of The 41th International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products, Geneva, Switzerland
• - PolyU Global Student Challenge - A Global Competition for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• - ATN-ISTA Nanonetwork and Joint PhD Program
• - Knowledge Transfer Management Forum Series

Knowledge Transfer Management Forum Series titled “University Intellectual Property Management” was held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting on 25 Oct. The Forum brought together institutional administrators and IP experts / practitioners from the region to share the latest trend, practices and approaches in the management, transfer, commercialization and trading of intellectual properties.

On the next day, parts of the ISTA delegation attended a special extended session of University Intellectual Property Management Forum about intellectual property protection and management for herbal-based products. The others visited Sichuan University-Hong Kong Polytechnic University "Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction"
