ISTA strives to assist its members in commercializing and marketing the technologies, processes and products developed in applied R&D for both the regional and global markets. The most common forms of technology transfer include licensing, joint venture and spin-off.
The technologies, processes or products developed in applied R&D projects are licensed for use, manufacturing or distribution by a third party company.
Examples of Commercialization through Licensing
For technologies and products with high market potential, joint ventures or spin-off companies may be formed to manufacture and market them. Investors are invited to participate as business partners and provide funding for these start-up companies.
