Hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the 17th Annual General Meeting was held in Hong Kong on 12 Nov. Around 60 delegates from ISTA and ATN attended the event.
The AGM had achieved fruitful discussions and had received numerous precious suggestions from the participants, regarding the activities completed for the past year and the future development of ISTA. These include:
The first Forum of the Knowledge Transfer Management Forum Series was held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting. Titled "East Meets West - Sharing of KT Practices and Models", the Forum brought together institutional administrators and expert KT practitioners from Australia, Canada, China, Korea and Singapore to share their best practices through keynote speeches and panel discussion. The Forum also attempted to explore how different cultures, philosophies and models can affect a university's approach to the holistic development of Third Mission practices.
Besides, ISTA and ATN jointly organized a workshop to explore the development of joint PhD programs between ISTA and ATN member universities. Senior executives in charge of international collaboration and R&D and existing joint PhD students were invited to share their experiences. The workshop was the first cornerstone for both networks to engage into further agreements and to formulate plans/guidelines facilitating member universities to collaborate in future.
On the next day, the ISTA and ATN delegation attended the University Social Responsibility Summit and the PolyU 75th Anniversary Celebration Banquet and exchanged with the senior executives and scholars from various universities worldwide.
