Co-organized by the Intellectual Property Department (IPD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and City University of Hong Kong (CityU), AUTM-ISTA Technology Transfer Workshop was held on 14 – 18 August 2018 in Hong Kong. The 5-day training workshop consisted of two standard course modules of The Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and two supplementary workshops to apply the principles in the Chinese context: 
 

 
33 practitioners from 11 ISTA universities including Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Sichuan University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Southern University of Science and Technology and Guangzhou Maritime University actively participated in the activity. While the two AUTM standard course modules provided a good understanding of the best practices from overseas, the supplementary workshop guided by Dr Yan WANG of Tsinghua University and Prof. Rongxiang ZHAO of Zhejiang University  offered in-depth discussion on adopting the principles in the local context. Dr David AI of Hawaii University and Dr Alwin WONG of PolyU also attended the workshop as guest speakers.
